JAPAN VLOG 6 // VEGAN CAFE in Tokyo, Kiddyland & Shopping in Omotesando Hills!

My best friend who I’ve been travelling Japan with is vegan and vegan-friendly food can be tough to find in Tokyo! So we were pretty stoked to find Mr Farmer in Omotesando (a central area of Tokyo) with some delicious vegan options.

For the rest of the day we went shopping around Omotesando Hills, went Kiddyland (which is a mecca of merchandise for all different kinds of cartoons and anime like Pokemon, Studio Ghibli and Disney!), the clothing store WEGO, bought some Japanese makeup and contact lenses from Ainz Tulpe and visited Yoyogi Park! We decided not to get Japanese for dinner though… you’ll just have to watch the video to see where we went! 😉

JAPAN VLOG 5 // DYING MY HAIR BLUE, Genki Sushi & Trying Japanese BEAUTY DRINKS!

UM, SO MY HAIR IS BLUE.

I was a little nervous about dying my hair while I was in Tokyo, but I decided to be brave and give it a go! Nalu Number 76 is an English-speaking hair salon in Omotesando and my stylist Erika did a great job on my hair - I actually wanted an ashy brown colour but one bleach wasn’t enough to get there, so she dyed over the yellow bleach tones with a wash-out blue dye to counteract the brassiness and I ended up with blue hair!

I never would have dyed my hair blue if she didn’t suggest it, but since making this video and my hair having now washed out to the correct ash brown, I actually want to go blue again, but for real this time!! Thumbs up this video if you think I should 😍

Afterwards I headed back to Shibuya to do a little shopping, visited the COOLEST SUSHI TRAIN ever, and sat down with my bestie Jess to try some of the popular Japanese ‘Inner Beauty’ drinks (spoiler: they’re weird!).

JAPAN VLOG 4 // TOKYO APARTMENT TOUR, Pressed Flower Manicures & Ichiran Booth Ramen!

We made it to Tokyo! After a Bullet Train ride from Kyoto to Tokyo, we arrived at our Airbnb apartment in Yoyogi-koen. It was a gorgeously big and bright space, so I just HAD to do an apartment tour for you guys!

In the afternoon we headed out to central Shibuya to get our nails done at the Max Kelly Freeve salon - Jess and I both had pressed flower manicures, because they’re all over Japan and so freakin’ cute! Afterwards I introduced Jess to Ichiran Ramen, the famous booth ramen franchise. #cravingitafterwatchingmyvideoback

JAPAN VLOG 3 // FEEDING DEER in Nara & HIRING BIKES in Arashiyama's Bamboo Forest!

I’ve visited Arashiyama, Kyoto on all of my trips to Japan, but this was my first time hiring a bike to explore the streets! I definitely recommend renting one if you’re ever in the area - it’s a great way to get to know the town. While there, we visited Tenryuji temple and the famous Bamboo Grove before travelling to Nara to see the city of deer!

There are literally HUNDREDS of deer just walking around that you can pat and feed, and because we went at the end of spring, there were a lot of baby ones too! It’s a few hours away from Kyoto by train, but the ride is well worth it - the deer even bow as their way of asking for food! #cuteas

JAPAN VLOG 2 // RENTING KIMONOS in Kyoto & Hello Kitty Cafe!

In today’s Japan vlog, we visited Kiyomizudera, one of Kyoto’s most iconic temples and RENTED KIMONOS from Okamoto Kimono! We were stopped SO MANY TIMES to be in other tourists’ photos, even literally being pulled into their pictures! It was a tonne of fun though - being dressed in full kimono certainly grabs attention 😅

Then we visited the Hello Kitty Saryo cafe for a lunch with Hello Kitty herself, before shopping at a gorgeous Studio Ghibli store in the backstreets of Gion. Stay tuned to the end for my Kiyomizudera omiyage (souvenir) haul!
